WEEK AHEAD: Panthers look to head into all-star break on winning note

KITCHENER - After rain dampened a Tuesday night affair against Brantford, the Panthers have a pair of games over the next week, with a star studded Saturday in Welland in between.

Kitchener has lost two of its last three games, but have won six of its last eight.

The last place Toronto Maple Leafs visit Jack Couch Park on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. for HOCKEY HELPS THE HOMELESS NIGHT.

Toronto is sitting at 8-19 on the season, half a game behind Brantford and just snapped a five-game losing skid on Sunday. The Maple Leafs also play Wednesday night at home against Barrie.

Ryan Dos Santos is their hottest hitter, leading the team with a .323 batting average and riding an eight-game hit streak.

Johnathan Solazzo has hits in 13 of his last 14 outings.

Then, it is the IBL All-Star Showdown in Welland on Saturday.

No Panthers players are participating in the Home Run Derby in the afternoon, and three players are on the reserve list for the game at 6:05 p.m.

Those players are pitcher Pedro De Los Santos, infielder Raul Gonzalez and outfielder Jett Jarvis.

Kitchener wraps up the weekend on the road in London Sunday at 1:05 p.m.
