KITCHENER - Some more speed on the base path for the Kitchener Panthers.

Infielder Yoichi Ishihara is excited to sign with the Panthers for the 2025 season, as he looks to add some offensive punch to the lineup.

Ishihara hit .361 in 34 games for Toronto in 2023 (regular season and playoffs), including 30 hits, 15 RBI and nine stolen bases.

"We are pleased to have Yoichi joining us this season," said general manager Shanif Hirani.

"He brings immediate impact at the plate and on the bases and will make our offence more dynamic."

On the signing, Ishihara said he is "very honored and privileged to be able to perform for such a historical team as the Kitchener Panthers."

"I will do my best this year to compete and win a championship for the city and fans. I look forward to doing my best and making my home country of Japan proud!"
