SIGNING TRACKER: Speedy Jamie Cabral adds to Panther attack
KITCHENER - The Panthers are adding some extra speed and power to the lineup.
Jamie Cabral has signed with the team for 2025. The Vaughan, ON product hit .345 for the TMU Bold (OUA) this past season, leading the team in home runs, stolen bases and OPS.
He was also a standout in junior, breaking the High Park junior baseball single-season records for batting average (.495) and stolen bases (43) in 30 games played.
Last season, he got into five games with the Toronto Maple Leafs. He went two-for-eight with an RBI and a pair of stolen bases.
"Jamie is an exciting young athlete that will bring an element of speed to our team," said general manager Shanif Hirani.
"We want to play aggressive, and he will play a huge part in us being able to wreak havoc on the basepaths and steal some extra runs."
