SIGNING TRACKER: Strikeout artist Yadian Martinez back in the fold

KITCHENER - He was one of the top strikeout guys in the IBL last year, and he's returning to Kitchener for a third season.

Yadian Martinez's 91 strikeouts was second in the league last year.

He made 14 appearances (11 starts) and had a 5.98 ERA in 76.2 innings of work.

To make matters better, his strikeout to walk ratio was something to behold, only walking 21 batters.

Since arriving midway through 2023, Martinez has picked up a 4-7 record in 19 regular season appearances for the Panthers.

"We are happy to have Yadian return for his third season with us," said general manager Shanif Hirani. "He's a very valuable piece of our pitching staff, as he is someone we can count on to rack up innings and strikeouts. 

"He's also off to a hot start pitching for the Industriales this year, so once he arrives, he will be ready to compete from day one."
